Note: The Office of Teacher Certification is working diligently to process all certifications and Rank changes as quickly as possible. As this is a very busy time, please keep all calls and emails to a minimum to allow more time for processing forms. If you have an urgent need regarding a TC-1 form, a TC-TP form (for Alternative Route to Teacher Certification students), or a transcript receipt, please contact teacher.certification@wku.edu and someone will try to respond as soon as time will allow. Thank you for your patience. For certification or Rank change, please submit a TC-1 form with original signatures, an official transcript (with the degree posted if you are in a degree seeking program), and a copy of all applicable Praxis scores. You may check your TopNet account to see if we have received your test scores. |

Personnel in the Office of Teacher Certification process and maintain the necessary paperwork for recommending teachers for certification in Kentucky. They assist students seeking initial certification, those completing certification only programs and those in graduate programs seeking advanced certificates or rank changes. The staff encourages all students to work closely with advisors in their academic content areas to ensure the successful completion of the certification process.

This site also offers information on employment opportunities and contact information for Kentucky school districts. The Kentucky Teacher Certification Requirements and Kentucky Teaching Certificates located at this web site should also be helpful in addressing questions you might have. Also, a list of Frequently Asked Questions is available. Registration books for the PRAXIS series can be obtained from the WKU Office of Teacher Certification or by contacting the Educational Testing Service at 609-771-7395.
