Program Description

The Middle Grades (Middle Grades Science & Math Only) and Secondary Education Department at Western Kentucky University offers this alternative teacher certification training program that will provide individuals with a Master of Arts in Education degree (ARTC/MAE) within a 14 month period.

Participants will enroll in an initial and follow-up summer cluster of courses, which will focus on growth in both content and pedagogical knowledge and skills. During the school year, between the two summer clusters, participants will be employed as first year teachers and engage in the Kentucky Teacher Internship Program as well as enroll in a practicum conducted by Western faculty.
