The Test Anxiety Phenomenon
Even students who study to the best of their ability, organize to
the hilt, and prepare as much as humanly possible can have test anxiety. The
symptoms range from butterflies in the stomach to … well, you know.
Steps toward test anxiety minimization include:
·
Study
·
Organize
·
Prepare No new news there, right?
·
Don’t
Procrastinate
(Don’t cram!)
·
Refine your study strategy repertoire. Learn about new study tools and practice
them. Just
like shopping for clothes, you try them on and find the ones
that work best for you.
We’re all different and we all need to
find our own fit in our study strategy wardrobe. Then
learn to adapt to
different study situations by implementing different study strategies. You
wouldn’t wear a tuxedo to a barn dance. Different
strategies are for different learning
situations. WKU offers excellent student resources. Visit
