Survivor is a hit television game show that is based on reality.
Each season, the producers of the CBS show choose 16 people
to send to a remote location. They have to find food, water, and shelter
so that they can survive. The contestants are divided into two tribes and
compete against each other for immunity. The winner of immunity receive
an immunity idol to represent that they are the winners. Immunity is very
treasured since it is immunity that keeps the tribe from going to the dreaded
tribal council. Tribal council is the place where the members of the tribe
without immunity go to vote off a member of their tribe. Once a member of
the tribe is voted off, their torch is extinguished and they are told that "the
tribe has spoken." They are not allowed to return to the game. Once there
are only ten contestants left, the two tribes merge into one and each
contestant competes against the other contestants for immunity. The game
goes on until there are only two left. The contestant that wins is the one
that was able to "outwit, outlast, and outplay" the other contestants.
