Section VII: Learner Objectives Instructors should carefully analyze the Summary Statements and consider all data to construct Learner Objectives for improving the learner's literacy skills and strategies. The Learner Objectives are declarative statements that specifically address what the learner "will do" to increase literacy skills and strategies. Examples are as follows: * J. will use mature reading strategies as ways to support comprehension and construct meaning. * J. will continue to access his prior knowledge to help him construct meaning in reading and writing situations. * J. will attend to punctuation. You will note that the Learner Objectives are closely aligned with the Summary Statements.
