Section V:  Learner Directed Activity

The learner should prepare an informal lesson teaching the instructor how to do something they don't know how to do.  The learner and instructor should begin discussing this activity early in the case study so that the learner can be collecting/preparing any materials they need for the instruction.  This can be virtually anything (playing a game, making something, cooking, changing the oil in a car, etc.).

The instructor should use narrative form to describe the experience starting with what the learned taught and how he/she went about the process of teaching the skill.  Note mannerisms (patient, nervous, confident, etc.) and methods (tell about the process, show the process, provide hands-on experiences for you, organized, sequential, detailed explanations, prompted for questions, etc.).  End this piece with your (the instructor's) reaction to this experience.
