Rubric for Discussion Boards:
To facilitate students’ ability to become reflective educators, decision makers, and to construct meaning for an understanding of the interrelationships and application of educational theory into classroom practices students will respond to prompts on the Discussion Board in Blackboard.
Points for this assignment will be scored as follows:
| Criteria | Poor - Fair | Good | Excellent |
| Discussion Boards (Grand Conversations) |
Missed entries on discussion board OR comments that are not on topic. Clearly no effort has been made to add to the "grand conversation." | Vague comments that do not add to "grand conversation." Instructor unable to discern if student has read assigned readings (based on comments made in discussion board posting). You are not expected to "quote" the text, but to include ideas from the text/articles in your responses. | Specific, thoughtful comments that add to the "grand
conversation." Easy to discern that student has read the text and
synthesized the information. Comments are based on information provided
in the text and on real life experiences the student has had.
