HomeI am a native of West Virginia, but have lived in Kentucky for eighteen years. Kentucky like West Virginia is such a beautiful state with gorgeous mountains and a wonderful history. I have been teaching at Western Kentucky University (WKU) for 17 years in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. Before coming to (WKU), I was a public school teacher with experience in teaching all grade levels, and extensive administrative experience including positions as elementary supervisor, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction, and Program Coordinator of Reading/Language Arts, and Social Studies with the West Virginia Department of Education.
I love to share Appalachian folk tales and stories of the Civil War to anyone who will listen. In the last 7 seven, I have been the guest speaker in over 250 classrooms in Kentucky as well as living history presentations at 15 Civil War battle re-reenactments.
