Admission to M.A.E in Learning and Behavior Disorders
Step One
Graduate College admission and other requirements as stated in the Graduate Catalog. GAP score of 2200 or higher (undergraduate GPA of 2.5 X GRE Composite Score) and a required GRE Analytical Writing score of 3.5 Applicant is responsible for maintaining contact with the Graduate College (270) 745-2446 to ensure application is complete and has been forwarded to the EXED Admissions Committee. Completed paperwork is due by April 1 for Summer Semester admission; by July 20 for Fall Semester admission.
Step Two
Submission of a Portfolio by either April 1 or July 20 containing the following documents to the EXED Program Admission Committee, Tate Page Hall, 364, WKU, Bowling Green, KY 42101.
- Three letters of recommendation
- Professional Development Plan
- Strengths in Exceptional Education
- Areas of growth in Exceptional Education
- Personal philosophy of education
- Students with exceptionalities
- Commitment to the profession
EXED Admission Committee may request an interview.
MASTER OF EDUCATION - LEARNING AND BEHAVIOR DISORDERS
This option is for individuals with an undergraduate major and certification in Learning and Behavior Disorders.

Total Hours 30
All courses in the program carry critical performance indicators (CPI). A course's Critical Performance must be completed before the final course grade will be recorded.
Each course's CPI becomes a part of the portfolio that is reviewed at the end of each semester for progress through the program.
Successful completion of a comprehensive examination is required. It may be retaken one time. If the student does not meet this requirement, the program will convert to a Planned 5th Year Rank II.
GPA of 3.0 or higher is required of all graduate coursework with no grade lower than a “C.”
