Admission Requirements

Effective January, 2005

Applicants for admission to the MAE program in Education and Behavioral Science Studies must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate degree in an area related to education or behavioral sciences
  • GAP score (GRE-V plus GRE-Q, multiplied by undergraduate GPA) of at least 2200
  • GRE-V score of at least 350
  • GRE Analytical Writing score of at least 3.5

In addition, applicants must submit a personal statement that describes the applicant's professional/career goals, including a discussion of how the applicant believes completing the MAE in Education and Behavioral Science Studies will contribute to the realization of those goals. The statement of professional/career goals should be sent to the program coordinator, Dr. Retta Poe, Associate Dean for Academic Programs, College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, Western Kentucky University, 207 Tate Page Hall, Western Kentucky University, 1906 College Heights Blvd. #11030, Bowling Green, KY 42101, or as an e-mail attachment to retta.poe@wku.edu.

International student applicants:
International students who apply must achieve a minimum score of 550 on the TOEFL (or 213 on the computer-based version). The Listening subscale score must be at least 50 (16 on the computer-based version), and the essay writing subscale score must be at least 4.0.
