Programs

The Department of Counseling and Student Affairs offers two CACREP accredited programs in Mental Health Counseling, leading to a Masters of Arts in Education:

Non-degree Seeking Students

Students with a previous master's degree in a counseling related area who are seeking state licensure as a Professional Counselor or Marriage and Family Therapist may enroll in courses that will complete their licensure requirements. These students are encouraged to contact Dr. Minatrea, Coordinator of the Mental Health Counseling Programs. Students will need to apply to the Graduate School and those needing more than 2-3 courses will need to apply to the Counseling & Student Affairs program and be admitted into the program.

Students needing a mental health practicum/internship must apply and be accepted into the Counseling Programs and have completed prerequisite courses (560, 554, 558, 559 or equivalent). For more information, see the website for practicum/internship application and procedures.

After reviewing the information located on the Department's web site, students need to contact Dr. Duba for a meeting to discuss practicum/internship.

Additionally, students need to review and complete the appropriate licensure application prior to a meeting with Drs. Minatrea or Duba.
