3.1 |
Assistantship stipend equals that being paid in the student’s area of study. |
| |
3.2 |
Graduate in-state tuition paid for African American Kentucky residents only (1.1 above, not 1.2 or 1.3). This tuition is limited to graduate courses required in the program. Student is responsible for tuition and fees for all other graduate courses and/or for undergraduate courses. |

Graduate out-of-state portion of tuition is paid for non-Kentucky residents. (1.2 above) |

3.4 |
Course fees and other special program related fees are the student’s responsibility. |

3.5 |
Assistantship applications are reviewed and awarded by the following schedule: Fall Semester and/or Academic Year – June 30, Spring semester – October 15, Summer Session – April 15. |

Financial support for assistantships is provided through the Graduate Studies program, whereas financial support for course tuition is provided through the Kentucky Plan for Equal Opportunities. |

Responsibilities |

4.1 |
MAP assistants are integral members of their respective departments and programs of study. |
| |
4.2 |
MAP assistants are advised and mentored by graduate program advisors. |
| |
4.3 |
MAP assistants assigned to other units outside the program of study for assistantship responsibilities are evaluated by the on-site supervisor. |
| |
4.4 |
MAP assistants are subject to the policies and procedures outlined in the Graduate Assistant Handbook. |

Financial Support |

2.1 |
Course tuition equals the basic resident tuition for one three-hour graduate course in the approved program of study. Support does not include any special course fees. |

2.2 |
In the event the student takes multiple courses during the first term of registration, one course tuition will be paid. |
| |
2.3 |
Course tuition requests are reviewed and awarded by the following schedule: Fall Semester – June 30, Spring Semester – October 15, and Summer Session – April 15. |
