THIS WILL PREPARE YOU FOR THE NBPTS RENEWAL PROCESS.  It is designed to help NBCTs getting ready to go through the process and for new NBCTs to develop a plan for the first ten years of certification.

The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) offers the Profile of Professional Growth for renewal of National Board Certification with the renewal period being ten years from the respective date of certification of each National Board Certified Teacher.

You must be in your eighth or ninth year of certification to begin the renewal process. However, it is advantageous to start planning and understanding the process as early as possible into your first 10 year certification period.

GOAL: To explore and prepare NBCTs for the NBPTS renewal process.

Directions:
From Lexington/Louisville/Nashville: Take I-65 to Bowling Green Exit # 28. After exiting, continue on the exit/access road about ¾ mile to US Hwy 31W North. Merge right on 31-W North and continue for 4 miles (at about the 3½ mile point, you will pass Warren East High and Middle Schools on the left). Soon after the highway changes from four lanes to two lanes, watch for the entrance to KY Transpark on the right (stone pillars flank the entry). Turn into the Transpark (you’ll be on Commonwealth Boulevard) and continue to the first street on the right, Technology Way. At this right turn on Technology Way is the Warren County Technology Center (blue roof). GRREC is the first building on the left at 230 Technology Way.

From Owensboro: Take Natcher Parkway east to I-65 North. Follow same directions as above.
