The Professor of Military Science, LTC Mark Powell, makes his opening comments

 

Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr.Richard C. Miller, presented the Marshall Award to cadet Daniel Basile. Cadet Basile is a senior majoring in Management, and is from Gallatin, Tennessee

 

Distinguished Military Cadets

Cadet Daniel Basile. Cadet Basile is a senior majoring in Management and is from Gallatin, Tennessee.

Cadet Brockmon Carter. Cadet Carter is a senior majoring in History and is from Tompkinsville, Kentucky.

Cadet Stephen Carter. Cadet Carter is a senior majoring in engineering and is from Georgetown, Kentucky.

Not pictured: Cadet William Conkright. Cadet Conkwright is a senior majoring in hospitality management and dietetics. He is from Owensboro, Kentucky.

Superior Cadet of each of our military science classes

Major (R) Tim Brotherton will present these awards.

The Army Superior Cadet award is based on academic and military excellence, as well as outstanding achievements in campus activities.

The 2008 MS IV award goes to Cadet Zachary Todd. Cadet Todd is a senior majoring in recreation administration, and is from Irvington, Kentucky.

The 2008 MS III award goes to Cadet Matt Kasenow, CDT Kasenow is a junior from Newburg, Indiana majoring in history.

The 2008 MS II award goes to Cadet Logan Hatfield. Cadet Hatfield is a sophomore majoring in religious studies, and is from Louisville, Kentucky.

The 2008 MS I award goes to Cadet Peter Drance. Cadet Drance is a freshman majoring in political science, and is from Florence, Kentucky.

LTC Michael Brantley, assistant professor of military science presented the Wassom award. The Wassom award is in honor of Brigider General Herbert M. Wassom and is presented to the top MS III cadet. This year’s award goes to Cadet Matt Kasenow. Cadet Kasenow is a junior majoring in history, and is from Newburg, Indiana.

The Society of the American Military Engineers.

MS Connie Colter presented this award to Cadet Stephen Carter. CDT Carter is a senior majoring in mechanical engineering.

Jack Thacker, Professor of Military History, presented the Association of the United States Army Leadership Award. The award provides a certificate and a book to recognize outstanding leadership and academic achievement by a member of the MSIII class.

The 2008 award goes to Cadet Cody Lachappelle. Cadet Lachappelle is a junior majoring in nursing and is from Covington, Georgia.

The Reserve Officers’ Association annually presents an award to cadets in military science who have demonstrated outstanding qualities of leadership, moral character, and a high aptitude for military service.

The 2008 MS IV award goes to Cadet Heather Downs. Cadet Downs is a senior majoring in sociology, and is from live Oak, Florida.
